What is ChartField Combination Edit

in PeopleSoft FSCM

Chartfield Combination Edit is a PeopleSoft delivered feature to set and enforce criteria for filtering out unwanted journal entry lines to ledgers based on combinations of ChartFields and their values.

We can populate valid combinations in table COMBO_DATA_TBL and mandate to check all Manual Journals against these combinations. It can be done with two methods:

  1. Create Combo Definition, Combination rule, Combination Group and finally Build Combination data.
  2. Create Combination Group with User defined data option checked. Populate Combo edit table with the required combination, which can be done by customised load process.

In this video you will learn how to create Combo edit rules for a simple scenario of Account-product valid combinations.

Beautifully explained! I have wrestled with Peoplebooks explanations to get my head around this process and your video has taught me more in 10 minutes that I was able to learn by myself in 2 days.

Hi Neeraj,

I think it can be done. You need to first review what chartfields will be involved to create Combo edits.
Also you can explore the option of using Trees in your combo edit rules. Trees will help you to manage your combo rules in a better way. Please let us know if you need any further details.
